Patience

Take a breath. Think it through. Be patient.

Sometimes we find ourselves exasperated. Things, people, stressful or unexpected situations test the limits of what we’re willing to deal with. Of course we learn to overcome these things over time. But the key to successfully navigating them is patience.

The term “patience is a virtue” rings very true, and it is not a virtue everyone is graced with. With the growing need for instant gratification and social acceptance, patience nowadays can be hard to come by. But nonetheless, it can be learned.

Take the time to breathe. Recognize situations before they develop into moments that agitate your progress. Step away and think through them with logic, separating your emotions. Taking the time to do this leads to great progress in learning patience, and in building rapport with those around you. More often than not, people are not intentionally trying to make you lose patience — sometimes they just don’t know.

Take a breath. Think it through. Be patient.
