Gut Check

Sometimes you are beating yourself so good, it's bad.

You’re staring at a mountain of a task. You’ve had a bad week. Month. Maybe even a bad year. Mentally exhausted. There’s so much going on you can’t seem to get enough done in the day to even begin the path of this new challenge.

You know the saying, in order to be the man you’ve got to beat the man? Well, sometimes that man is you. Sometimes you are beating yourself so good it’s bad. Those who step up to new challenges always have that gut check moment — where the feet meet the road and the hands get dirty.

But when do we have the guts to say it’s ok to take a step back and settle ourselves enough to live? To find peace for ourselves instead of exhausting all our efforts succeeding for someone else?

Know when to have that gut check moment and tackle the challenge. But remember to have the guts to step aside when you need to revive self.
