Unrealistic Expectations

You can always grow and add new tools to your toolbox. That should always be a realistic expectation.

When we talk about level setting and managing expectations, most of the time we are tuning the mind to reality. The thing is, we often have great expectations of people, places, and situations.

Being able to step down off cloud nine and see a situation for what it truly is — and what it could be with the proper efforts — helps us set realistic expectations for our relationships, workplace, and goals. Not having the right tools, or the right mindset, can set you up to fail with unrealistic expectations of self.

Always know your worth. But believing you deserve an opportunity because you feel you have a talent or some entitlement doesn’t mean you can expect the same sentiment from others. Sometimes setting your pride and ego to the side, looking at your true abilities, and then setting goals properly will sway you from unrealistic expectations.

You can always grow and add new tools to your toolbox. That should always be a realistic expectation.
